Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how serhiichuk.dev ("the site", "we", "I") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the site or get in touch. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information I collect
- Contact details you provide. When you submit the contact form or book a call, I receive the information you enter (such as your name, email address, and message).
- Usage data. Page views and interactions are counted by Umami, a cookieless analytics service. It records the page you opened, the site that referred you, and coarse details such as country, browser, and device type. It also records what you did on the page: which links and buttons you clicked, which outside site a link sent you to, whether the contact form went through, whether a blog post got read rather than only opened. It never records what you type into a field. There are no cookies and no tracking across other sites. Umami anonymizes what it collects and processes it in the EU, and I cannot identify you from it. My CV site, cv.serhiichuk.dev, reports into the same analytics: page views, PDF downloads, clicks through to a certificate.
- Private CV links. When I send you a link to a CV tailored for a specific role, opening it is recorded: that the link was opened, which version of the CV it was, and whether you took the PDF or the web page. That is what the link is for. It tells me my email reached you, and since I sent that link to you and to nobody else, an open points back at you the same way a reply would. Nothing about you is stored with it. No raw IP address is kept anywhere either, because Umami hashes the address together with your browser into an identifier that changes every day.
- What my server records. Everything above runs in your browser, so a content blocker stops it and both sites work exactly the same without it. Two things do not run there. As my server answers the request it records whether a contact-form message was delivered or failed to send, and that a private CV link was opened. Each one carries the outcome and nothing else — no message text, no name, no email address.
How I use your information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site.
- To see which pages and links people use, and whether a CV link I sent was opened, so I know when to follow up.
Sharing of information
I do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by third-party providers used to run the site (for example, hosting and scheduling tools) solely to deliver the functionality you request. Analytics run on Umami, which receives the visit and interaction data described above and nothing else.
Browser extensions
Chrome extensions I publish, like the llms.txt validator, each get their own privacy policy rather than sharing this one — a reviewer or user checking what an extension does shouldn't have to read a page about contact forms and Umami to find out. See the llms.txt validator's privacy policy.
Data retention
Contact submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your request and for reasonable record-keeping.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact me using the details below.
